Do you compete with Benji? Yes, we compete in Dressage at Elementary level.
What you enjoy most about competition riding? It keeps me fit and active. I love the competitive nature of the sport especially as it involves team work between you and your horse (on good days!). The comps are always a great day out and an opportunity to catch-up with friends who share the same interest.
What is your favourite McLeish wine that is available? Currently it would have to be the 2014 Reserve Chardonnay…just love this wine!
If you could have three people over for dinner who would it be? I would have to invite firstly, Bob (my partner) so he can do all the cooking! He would like to invite Nigella Lawson to give him a hand with the cooking and keep him entertained. To add some hilarity to the evening, I would like to invite Barry Humphries as Dame Edna or as Sir Les (whomever Barry decides on) and maybe Keith Richards (if he’s still around) as he could tell of few interesting Stones stories!
What is your favourite food and wine match at the moment? A Wagyu Scotch Fillet from the Branxton Butchers matched with a mature Hunter Shiraz.
What about a defining wine moment? A dozen Tathra Sydney Rock oysters matched with the 2018 McLeish Estate Semillon – a marriage of flavours made in heaven!
The dish you cook to impress? Would have to be a slow-cooked shoulder of local Hunter lamb in red wine with lots of garlic and rosemary served with a 2014 McLeish Estate Cabernet / Shiraz. Delicious!
What has been your favourite McLeish Wine Event? Definitely “Vine to the Glass” held in March each year at McLeish Estate. This is such a fun event for all the family to enjoy from the Wine & Food Masterclasses to the Grape Stomping Competition to the Barrel Racing!
