Hunter Valley White Wines and Semillon

Semillon is where McLeish Estate began. Bob and Maryanne McLeish planted Semillon and Chardonnay in 1985, and Semillon is still the heart of the range, from the Estate Semillon and Auld Killie Semillon to the Reserve Semillon 2024, awarded 95 points in the Halliday Wine Companion, and aged Cellar Reserve releases back to 2007.

The white range also includes the Victoria Chardonnay, Verdelho, the Chelsea Semillon Chardonnay blend, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, the Culloden NV Duke Cuvée and Jessica’s Botrytis Semillon.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Hunter Valley Semillon special?

Hunter Semillon is traditionally picked early and made without oak. It starts out fresh, with citrus and floral notes, then builds toasty, honeyed layers as it ages in bottle. Our Estate Semillon and Reserve Semillon can be enjoyed now or cellared for 10 years or more.

What food goes with McLeish white wines?

Pair the Estate Semillon with Sydney rock oysters, sushi or kingfish sashimi, and the Verdelho with Vietnamese rice paper rolls, spicy stir fry or tapas. At the cellar door you can pre-order our Semillon & Sushi.

Do you sell aged Semillon?

Yes. Our Cellar Reserve Semillon is available from the 2007, 2009, 2013 and 2014 vintages. See Wines of Distinction.
