At McLeish Estate we’re frequently struck by the beauty of the place in which we work. Time and time again we’re bowled over by the rolling hills, frolicking wildlife and the rows of vines that make us so lucky to work in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country.
We want our guests to have also have access to this stunning environment, which is why we offer unique cellar door tasting experiences to make your time at McLeish Estate extraordinary.
You can start your day by entering our grounds in style, being picked up by helicopter and taking a scenic flight over the region before being delivered to our cellar door and greeted with a glass of Sparkling NV Duke Cuvee. From here you move into our seated premium wine tasting experience, where you can enjoy our diverse offerings including some of our most highly rated drops.
We can’t send you home without lunch, so following the tasting we set you up a picnic rug and a Hunter Valley Tasting Plate. This has been designed by locally renown chef Matt Dillow, and includes his own Zucchini and Pine Nut Frittata, antipasto and delicious spreads. With this you can grab a gorgeous vantage spot on the hill and overlook the vines while you feast. The helicopter will then return to see you back safely.
For those who prefer to stay firmly on the ground the Regional Tasting Plate is still available with our Wines of Distinction Tasting. This tasting gives you access to some of our most-awarded wines, guiding you through the Hunter Valley’s benchmark varietals and providing vertical tastings to showcase the high pedigree of our single vineyard.
You will be able to compare our vintages and learn about the flavour profiles of each varietal, with take-home recipes and tasting notes on hand.
If you’re seeking an experience that’s a little more generalised we also offer a seated wine tasting of our vineyard range. This can be paired with the use of our BBQ facilities or a gourmet cheese platter, and is a great way to enjoy our our grounds.
Most of all, we want to create an unforgettable day for you at our estate. With our cellar doors wide open, and everything from rare and aged wines to current releases, fantastic food and wonderful scenery on offer, a trip to McLeish Estate is a true sensory experience.
