Visiting McLeish Wines – when to book and what to expect

Visiting McLeish Wines - when to book and what to expect -

At McLeish Wines we field many questions from visitors who are trying to plan a weekend away in the Hunter Valley. The wine tasting experience has evolved at McLeish Wines as we try our best to accommodate all groups requirements.  We have created a short list below of tips and advice for planning your next McLeish experience.

DO WE NEED RESERVATIONS FOR WINE TASTING?

“Do all wineries require reservations?” This is a question we receive quite often at McLeish Wines as our tasting experiences are all seated with the option of food pairings, we do require bookings in advance. This will assist with planning your trip and unforgettable tasting experience at McLeish Wines.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK A WINE TASTING?

In our experience, visitors should book in their tasting experiences 3 – 4 weeks in advance for weekends. If your visit is during a holiday weekend 2 months in advance is recommended. Throughout the midweek a few days in advance is recommended especially during Spring/Summer.

ARE MOST WINE TASTINGS PRIVATE OR GROUPS?

At McLeish Wines, the cellar door is designed like a living room with several private tables so wine tasting guests each have their own table. All tastings at the cellar door are seated, all tastings with food can be booked on our website.

In order to have a private tasting with complimentary cheese board in our Members Lounge, you have to become a McLeish member for these rewards.

 No Symptoms Allowed

It goes without saying, if you are experiencing any signs of coronavirus whatsoever, we will be unable to welcome you onto our vineyard.

In line with the roadmap, those who are not fully vaccinated can only access our premises for takeaway.

Masks required

Mandatory for guests and our cellar door staff. Don’t worry we will endeavour to have you seated promptly with a glass of wine ready, were you will be able to remove your mask and relax.

Physical Distancing is Mandatory

Whenever you’re in a public place, maintaining a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other people outside your party is required.

Tastings by Appointment

The McLeish cellar door offers a range of appointment- only wine tasting experiences. You must make your booking in advance as this helps our team ensure we providing the best wine tasting experience and operating at the right capacity.

Small Groups Only

Group bookings will be limited to 10 people and all bookings can be made through the cellar door and website.

Socially Distant Wine Tasting

The McLeish cellar door has always welcomed guests to a seated tasting experience. Each group will have ample room to enjoy their tasting experience.

We look forward to welcoming you back to McLeish Estate from the 11th of October (local LGA) and 25th of October (state visitors).

Cheers to the Wine
