Culloden immortalises the final battle fought on British soil on 16 April 1746—a defining moment in Scottish history that continues to be remembered and commemorated today.
A uniquely Australian classic, that is crafted in tradition method. The Culloden Sparkling Shiraz, sourced from old vine Shiraz grown on our De Beyers Road vineyard, the base wine was transformed through traditional bottle fermentation into a sparkling wine of richness, complexity and vitality.
Tasting Notes
Lifted aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and ripe plum are layered with hints of dark chocolate, liquorice and sweet spice. With a fine, persistent bead across the palate; presenting freshness and energy. Subtle savoury spice and a touch of sweetness from the dosage create balance and texture, leading to a smooth, elegant finish with lingering fruit intensity.

Production
Following secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine spent 12 months maturing on lees, developing depth, texture and nuance. Disgorged in May 2026 and finished with a small addition of fortified wine as part of the dosage, the resulting palate balances vibrant fruit, fine bead and elegant sweetness.
This highly anticipated release marks the return of a style we have long wished to recreate. The exceptional quality of the 2025 Shiraz vintage provided the perfect foundation for producing a Sparkling Shiraz worthy of the Culloden name
The result is a wine that captures the intensity and character of the vintage while maintaining freshness, finesse and drinkability. A wonderful Australian expression that can be enjoyed upon release or cellared to further develop complexity over time.
