McLeish Estate are one of the most awarded boutique Semillon producer’s in Australia. Creating a range of single vineyard Semillon’s that are acclaimed and celebrated throughout the world. This is a true recognition of the premium quality and the attention to detail that is applied throughout the whole winemaking process.
Brilliant bright green tinged, with complex lime and lemon zest, with fragrant hints of tropical passionfruit and green apple on the nose. With ageing generous layers of lanolin toasted hazelnut and honey will develop.
The palate delivers a vibrant ripe passionfruit and quince providing a wonderful complexity of flavours that are balanced with a seamless linear line of fresh citrus lime and lemon leading to a crisp mouth- watering finish.
This year McLeish Estate started harvesting the Semillon on the 2nd of February. The optimal conditions prevailed with long warmer days, the Vintage conditions throughout the white harvest continued to be extreme heat waves of 40 degrees plus leading to excellent ripeness and primary fruit characters.
Our Semillon is hand harvested from vines grown in friable red duplex loam soil at Pokolbin in the Lower Hunter Valley.– the vines, planted in 1985 – consistently producing the purest and brightest signatures of Hunter Semillon.

Cellaring: Our expression of Semillon is crafted to display vibrancy and lean acidity in its youth, while cellaring into the next 10 years will reward with the 2017 Semillon developing added complexity and honey comb texture over time.
