The “Dwyer” name has a special significance to Maryanne McLeish. The “Dwyer” label signifies Maryanne’s mother Marie Dwyer, so we are honouring the matriarch of the family.
Tasting Notes
Blush pink hue, aromatic red cherry and raspberry fruits. The palate is lively with attractive ‘Turkish Delight” and rich manuka honey flavours with a dusting of spice on a crisp dry finish.
Vintage
This year the Dwyer Rosé has been crafted from a blend of hand harvested estate Merlot and Shiraz. McLeish Estate started harvesting the Merlot on the 16th & 28th of February, followed by the Shiraz harvest on the 2nd of March. After a mild start to season the optimal conditions prevailed with long warmer days towards the end of January. The exceptional quality fruit is reflected in the immaculately balanced Merlot & Shiraz as the base of the textural Dwyer Rosé.
Vineyard
McLeish Estate vineyards are in Australia’s oldest wine growing region; the Hunter Valley, planted in 1985. Our Merlot is hand harvested from vines grown in friable red duplex loam soil– Fruit thinning was carried out on the single vineyard to consistently producing the purest and brightest signatures of Merlot.
